Smithville is 35 miles east of Austin via TX-71. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), or 50 minutes from downtown Austin. Many Austin-area buyers visit our factory in a morning and are back in town by lunch.
Yes. Factory tours are completely free with no purchase obligation. We welcome researchers, curious neighbors, designers, contractors, journalists, and anyone considering a tiny home build. Closed-toe shoes are required on the workshop floor, and cameras are allowed.
Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS) is the closest major airport at 35 miles. San Antonio International (SAT) is 95 miles. We can arrange transport from AUS for out-of-state visitors with advance notice — ask when you book your tour.
Yes — and beyond. Every county in Texas falls inside our free-delivery zone (1,000 miles from Smithville). We’ve delivered to Austin metro, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, El Paso, the Rio Grande Valley, and rural Texas counties. We also deliver nationwide to all 50 states; longer distances are billed separately.
Smithville is a historic Texas town (population ~4,000) known for the Smithville Heritage Museum, Buescher State Park, and as a film-shoot location (Hope Floats was filmed here). Bastrop is the next major town 15 miles west, with hotels, restaurants, and outdoor recreation. Many out-of-state factory-tour visitors stay in Bastrop the night before their tour.
